Dianne Moore, MSW, MS, CHC, CNE, FNLP

Hi! I’m Dianne, a Functional Nutrition Coach, Culinary Nutrition Expert, and the Founder of MooreBetterFood, where I provide individual coaching, group programs and teach classes on nutrition and wellness.

As a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (2013), the Academy of Culinary Nutrition (2018), and the Functional Nutrition Alliance (2020), you might guess that I’m a food nerd who loves learning about all things nutrition and health.

I also love to read mysteries and “who-done-its,” which is probably why I love to research and sift through your symptoms to pinpoint the origin of your problems or illness, and come up with a unique plan to move you forward toward your optimal health.

I believe there is a strong connection between nutrition, the environment and our health. My career began in health care, first as a social worker with women’s health organizations, a children’s hospital, and then an adult hospital. During a break to raise my 2 boys (now adults), I became interested in the power food has to influence our health.

Returning to work as an environmental consultant for Health Care Without Harm, I focused on improving the sustainability of hospital food service, but I wanted to see more of a direct impact of nutrition on health. Going back to school at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), I learned how to improve well-being through food choices. Taking that information one step further at the Academy of Culinary Nutrition, I focused on creating delicious, nutrient-dense meals that supported wellness and mitigated symptoms of chronic disease. And finally, all the pieces came together during my training at the Functional Nutrition Alliance. Functional nutrition is the process of uncovering the layers of illness to find the root cause of disease, and learning to rebuild foundational wellness using the 5 pillars of health - nutrition, sleep, movement, stress management, and social connection.

At that same time, I experienced my own health challenge. Diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease, I was also struggling with weight gain due to stress and hormonal changes. Putting my training into practice, I became my own client. I changed my diet and lifestyle - cut out gluten, dairy and sugar, established better sleep hygiene and exercise practices, learned to manage my stress, and built deeper social connections. Changing familiar foods and patterns of behavior felt awkward at first, but the benefits that result from following a health plan with guidance are so worth it!

I’ve put my all my training and experience together -counseling, nutrition, environment and health - into the core of my functional nutrition practice. We’ll work in partnership to explore your health profile to pinpoint the factors that contribute to disease, and come up with a unique plan to best move forward toward your optimal health. If you’re ready, let’s connect and see if we’re a good fit to work together!
